Anna's Anchor - Everybody's Welcome VINYL

We're thrilled to be releasing the new album from Marty Ryan aka Anna's Anchor - Limerick, Ireland's golden boy.

Written in isolation over Christmas '17 at Tragumna Beach in County Cork, Ireland. The songs within Everybody's Welcome come from a frank, honest place and directly open a dialogue on societal pressure and conformity of taking the road more travelled through life - that if you work hard in college, get a good degree, and get a decent job then you’ll live a 'happy' life - as well as taking on some more personal and anecdotal subject matter, such as living with alcoholism in your family.

As for the recording of the album, drums were tracked with friend of the label Bob Cooper (who’s worked with itoldyouiwouldeatyou, Lightcliffe and a million others) in Leeds. In-keeping with the writing sessions, the rest of the record was all tracked in an isolated cottage in Castletown Bere, West Cork which Anna’s Anchor booked out for a period of time and made into a makeshift studio, working alongside close friend Mike Gavin of the band Windings, with the pair co-producing the album.

Speaking of the post production process, Marty beams “We got it mixed by John Goodmanson in Seattle! He’s recorded bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Soundgarden, Pavement, Wu Tang Clan, Hanson… the list of sick bands is honestly endless. That was such a cool experience. We’re by far the smallest act he’s worked with in recent years.”

With its old head still very much firmly planted on youthful shoulders, Everybody’s Welcome is yet another startling prescient and well-crafted record from the burgeoning Irishman. Unquestionably his finest work to date. Fans of Into It. Over It., Kevin Devine &/or Death Cab for Cutie will find this essential listening
